HALLOWEEN HOOP-LA day 10

Sorry for the delay this morning- I thought I had this ready to go at 7AM this morning, but forgot to schedule it!!!!  Have a great day- it's October 8 and in Cheyenne- we have SNOW!!!!

October Recipe # 4

Spicy Pumpkin Shake

2 cups frozen apple juice concentrate, undiluted

1 cup milk

1 cup pumpkin puree

1 cup vanilla ice cream

1 teaspoon ground cinammon

1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg

Place all ingredients in a large blender or food processor.  Blend until well mixed and smooth.  Pour inot chilled glasses and serve immediately.

Supplies- Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Whisper White CS.  From the Crypt stamp set.  Cast-a-Spell DSP.  Basic Black and Pumpkin ink.  Wide Pumpkin Pie striped ribbon,  Black hemp.

Recipe Class #3

Squirmy Wormy Sandwiches

1 pkg (16 ozs) hot dogs

1 Tablespoon vegetable oil

1/2 cup ketchup

1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar

2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

1/2 teaspoon spicy brown mustard

Cut each hot dog into eight strips.  In a large skillet, saute the hot dog strips in vegetable oil until golden brown.

Mix ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard in a crock pot.  Add the hot dogs.  Mix thoroughly.  Heat the hot dogs through.  Serve on hamburger buns.

Funny story- during class, I had extra "students"- Bailey and Maggie came over and Bryson was here- these three are great friends and are in pre-school, Sunday School, Chimes, and Choir together.  When they came in, I told them that we would have worms and eyeballs for lunch.  Maggie looked at me and said "Yum- we only have turkey and cheese at my house."

Recipe #2- October

Bloodshot Eyeballs

1 cup powdered sugar

1/2 cups peanut butter

3 tablespoons butter, softened

1/2 lb white candy coating

24 brown Reese's pieces or M & Ms (I also like to use the blue and green ones!)

Red decorator icing

• In a small mixing bowl- combine sugar, peanut butter, and butter.  Shape into 1 inch balls; place in a waxed paper lined pan.  Chill for 30 minutes or until firm.
• Melt the white candy coating in either the microwave or on the stove top- stir until smooth.  Dip balls in coating and place on waxed paper.  Immediately press a candy into the top of each eyeballs for pupil.  Let stand 30 minutes or until set.
• Use the red decorator icing to make the eyeballs bloodshot!

Supplies- Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White, and Pumpkin Pie CS.  Tasty Sweet stamp set.  Cast-a-Spell DSP.  Elegant Eggplant ink.  Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard, and Elegant Eggplant markers.  1 3/8" and Scallop circle punch

October Recipe Class #1

 ToH (Taste of Home) Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

2 cups pumpkin seeds

5 tsp butter, melted

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp sugar

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 garlic powder

1/8 to 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

 

• In a bowl, toss pumpkin seeds with butter and Worcestershire Sauce.  Combine the sugar, salt, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper; sprinkle over seeds and toss to coat.
• Line a 15 in x 10 in x 1 in baking pan with foil; coat the foil with nonstick spray.  Spread the seeds in the pan.  Bake at 250 degrees for 45-60 minutes or until seeds are dry and lightly browned; stir every 15 minutes.  Cool completely and store in an airtight container.

Double Test Tube Holder

Big Shot Purse

This is a small purse made with the Top Note and Scallop Circle dies.  It is large enough for a Reese's Peanut Butter Pumpkin or a Marshmellow Ghost.

Supplies- Elegant Eggplant CS. Cast-a-Spell DSP.  Top Note and Scallop circle dies. From the Crypt stamp set (the spider!!) Basic Black craft ink and black ep.  Eggplant ric-rac ribbon.  Rhinestone brad.  Paper piercer.

Pillow Box

Supplies: Pillow Box Big Shot die.  Cast-a-Spell DSP.  Basic Black, Only Orange, Whisper White CS.  1", 1 1/4", 1 3/8", and Scallop Circle punches.  White gel pen.  Black and Orange 1/4" grosgrain ribbon.  Batty for You stamp set.

HALLOWEEN HOOP-LA day 3

Here are some pails I found at the Bull's Eye store dollar spot!  They usually have them every year- 2 for a dollar!  I added some of the Spooky Treats Rub-Ons in the IB & C.  I used my Crop-a-dile to add holes in the metal for some of the ribbon.  Other pails, I added the ribbon around the handle.  I used White, Black, and Pumpkin Pie 1/4" grosgrian as well as the black gingham.  I added a small chocolate bar and lollipop.  These were the "thank you for your order" that went to my Stamp Club girls for ordering in September.
