Back for a sec!

Hi there-

I'm back in the blogging world for like a minute- I know this week will be crazy- Labor Day weekend is NEXT weekend (how did we get here?!?!?) and we are planning a road trip (more on that later) and then my husband leaves the Tuesday after Labor Day for 3 week.

Ryan started 1st grade this past Wednesday.  My friend, Ellyn, was thrown a baby shower this afternoon.  I made a new friend- Baby Claire 2- amazingly enough I have two little friends with the name of Baby Claire.  Baby girls are fun to play with!!  Nope- don't want one of my own- I'm good with this.  I can't wait for Baby Ally to come to stamping classes with mom Ellyn!!!  I had a plain white bag and I had to dress it up- used the jumbo wheel So Swirly with the Pretty in Pink cartridge.  I even rolled the tissue!  I used my scallop circle Big Shot die (I LOVE THIS DIE!!!!) to make a bib card- everything was simple, but looked nice!!!

Here are pictures of Ryan's first day.  The picture of him and Bryson "walking" away is my traditional 1st day of school picture- I just love these!!!  In addition to Ryan pictures, there is one of the the bib card and the bag with the matching tissue!  I tired to get them in an order that made sense......  sorry it didn't work!

More Visitors!!

We had another week of family come out here this summer.  My dad and stepmom (Pa and Gigi) came out from NC.  We hadn't seen them since we left TN, 18 months ago.  Gigi bought MeMaw's Monkey Bread recipe- Ryan was SO HAPPY!  Of course, we needed to make another trip to Mt. Rushmore!!!  After they had made plans to come out, we found out that Bryson started school on that Monday!!  Ryan starts school (1st grade!) tomorrow!!! I am hoping that things calm down a bit after this week!!!  Pa and Ggigi left on Friday morning (early!) and then our weekend was jammed packed!!  The boys and I hung out on base all Friday at Frontiercade, Saturday was spent at a lake on a boat at a state park here in WY, and on Sunday, Bryson had his chimes debut at church!!!

I had to change the look of the blog again- the black background hurt my eyes!!!

Medallion card set

Wow- I had not yet inked up my brand new Medallion stamp set- bad Wanda!!  I am so loving it!!!  I made a set of three birthday cards with Soft Suede, Rich Razzleberry, and Melon Mambo.  I did some paper piercing, added a rhinestone brad, and the retired birthday word set.

A dress Thank You

Man- I am LOVING the Big Shot Scallop circle dress cards!!  I am having a BLAST with them!!  Here I have used items from the 09-10 catalog- Razzleberry Lemonade DSP, the Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo polka dot ribbons and CS.

SIMPLE CASE

Well, once again, I went S I M P L E!  I searched "Luau girl" on SCS gallery and found this luau girl made with punches!!  I am planning a Welcome Luau for the FE Warren Spouses' Club this upcoming weekend.  I thought this would be perfect for the thank you cards I needed for the donations and help I have gotten!!!

A simple THANK YOU!

So I went S I M P L E on this one, so not like me......  well, in regards to cardmaking..... hehe.  My friend needed a thank you note to send to Baskin-Robins for some ice cream they donated to the FE Warren Spouses' Club.  So- here is what I pretty much CASED from SplitcoasterStampers.  You can't see it, but the cone has texture from my Big Shot!!!  The "thank you" is from a retired set- Wonderful Words that will ALWAYS have a place in my heart!!

Oldies but Goodies #4

I should re-name this "Rebekah Rocks!!"  Rebekah is my friend from TN- she is so talented!!  Here are a few of her cards that I have kept over the years.

The first was a swap she made- it is AMAZING in person!!

The Wagon card was a card made with a stamp set and DSP from a Spring Mini.  The 2nd word was NOT supposed to be winter........  I helped her design this card.....the 2 of us were usually on the same page on designing.

The tag was something the 2 of us worked on one afternoon when I was driving from TN to NC.  She was at home working on it and I was talking to her.  When I finally got to see it- I loved it!!!

I miss my friend.

Oldies but Goodies #3

Christmas Card 2005

I always let my husband pick out the stamp set I use to  make our Christmas cards.  He LOVES the ones that have a lot of details and need to be colored!  Sigh- who really has time for that???  This was the Christmas I was pregnant with Bryson- he was born on 29 December!  I had no time (or patience) for coloring anything that year!!

This was made with the O Tannenbaum stamp set.  It was the tree and a saying- the "Season's Greetings" is from the SU Christmas word set- name has escaped me......  I CASE'S the layout and colors from the IBC.  You can't tell, but the tree is embossed with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder.  I got away with not coloring the tree because I made the tree look like it has tinsel ALL over it, just like our Christmas tree- thanks to Rich!!

Christmas Card 2006

I think this is the right year.........  I made a crossover pocket card- I got the directions from Spiltcoast Stampers.  I used a stamp set from the Holiday Mini that year.  This was the first card I did- I then decided that there was NO way I was cutting out 70 of those Santas!!  The other cards had Santa in an oval- so much easier!!  I used a package (or 2) of some SU DSP- so each card was different.
